Charles babbage, a mathematics perfessor. He began to design an automatic mechanical calculation machine, which he called difference engine. By 1822, he had a working midel to demonstrate. It it was intended to be steam power and fully automatic, including the printing of the results.
Babbage continued to work on it for the next 10 years, but in 1833 he lost interest because he thought he has a better idea i.e. the construction of what would now be calledgeneral purpose, fully program-controlled automatic mechanical digital computer. Babbage called this idea an Analytical Engine. the idea of this design showed a lod of foresight, althrough this couldnot be appreciated until a fully centurylater. The mechine was supposed to operate automatically, by steam power, and require only one person...........
